

HARYANA IRRIGATION RESEARCH AND MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE (HIRMI) KURUKSHETRA

Realizing importance of water resources it is in the pursuit that the institute at Kurukshetra was established as an autonomous body named Haryana Irrigation Research & Management Institute (HIRMI) by Govt. of Haryana on 1.5.98 under Societies Act 1860, with the main objective to conserve and proper management of water resources through Research and Training to Engineers, Agriculture Officers,. NGOs, Farmers, Members of Water User Associations.
The members of governing body and Managing Committee drawn from HID, (MITC Now closed), Science and Technology Department, Haryana Agriculture University and central Soil Salinity Research Institute. The Financial Commissioner & Principal Secretary (Irrigation) Govt,. of Haryana is the Chairperson of the Committee. The Institute is headed by a Principal Director of Engineer-in-Chief Cadre, two Deputy Directors with allied staff. Modern Audio-video system have been installed for dissemination of the training imparted. An excellent infrastructure along with Computer lab, hostel, auditorium, lecture hall etc. have been created for organizing trainings at HIRMI.
